6 Cares High School Football Challenge

Each year during football season, several area high schools take a challenge issued by WATE 6 and Second Harvest Food Bank to see which school can collect the most food and monetary donations.

The schools are paired up with rivals and given one week to collect canned goods and raise cash. The winner receives $500. The runner-up school gets $250.

Of course, the big winners are about 155,000 hungry East Tennesseans who are helped every month by Second Harvest Food Bank.

The 6 Cares High School Football Challenge is sponsored by WATE 6, Kroger Co., DIY Network, and Star 102.1fm.
